This is my second stay at this traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. The hot springs in this hotel are so comfortable, and soaking in the open-air bath is even better! The breakfast is average and needs to be served on time according to the time arranged by the hotel. Remember not to check in too late, otherwise you will have no choice of breakfast time and it must be the earliest 😂. Kusatsu Onsen is a place that deserves to be called Japan's Number One for hot springs. The hot spring water is so good. I have traveled to Japan dozens of times and I also like to take hot springs. The hot spring water here is the best👍

I had a wonderful stay this time! The room had a slightly old-fashioned feel, but that also gave it its own unique charm. The staff were very kind and attentive, and I was able to have a comfortable stay. The breakfast and dinner menus were very extensive, and everything was delicious and satisfying! I was satisfied with the breakfast and dinner, and the hot springs.
The shuttle bus to the Yubatake was also helpful and there was no waiting time, so it was comfortable.
However, it was disappointing that I could hear the noise and voices of a group of boys in the next room until around midnight.

The location of the hotel is actually near to the bus station but because it is elevated therefore it was quite tiring especially when we have luggage. Therefore please book the shuttle bus in advanced. The shuttle also will bring you to the onsen part of the city so its very convenient. It is a nice hotel but a bit old. The hotel and room can use some upgrading. We took the tatami room which is veryy big room. The tatami also is suuper comfortable. The room has no shower in the room. Just a sink and a toilet. So to shower, you will need to go to the onsen at the basement. Its very nice with very warm water to soak in. They also have a gift shop that has the local snacks and souvenirs, kids area and manga corner as well as vending machines. Our room came with breakfast which has all the local delicacies. Super interesting. Overall nice hotel but could use some sprucing up.

Cons: Older Property up a hill, location not the best
Pros: Value for Money, tried the Tatami experience, Comfortable Onsen Experience. You can try out the Onsens at two other sister properties, shuttle bus services provided.
